Stephen Polatch (b.1990) dissolves the complex hierarchy of natural, architectural, and human orders. Typically, a central exchange between Polatch’s subjects is what matters most in his works. Moments such as these — crossing glances, collaborations between humans and animals, or inner visions projecting into the picture plane— occupy a focal point from which his compositions are bent around. Polatch has recently presented solo exhibitions at Margot Samel, NY and Soft Opening, London. He has exhibited widely nationally and internationally including at White Columns, NY; Cedric Bardawil, London; Althuis Hofland Fine Arts, Amsterdam and Huxley-Parlour, London. He has participated in the John Moores Painting Prize 2025, and is held in private collections internationally.
